Purpose of the Appeal
We are at a critical juncture in India’s development journey. Issues like climate resilience, rural livelihoods, digital empowerment, public health, gender equality, and inclusive education demand rigorous, context-sensitive, and interdisciplinary research. The Strategia Research and Training Institute is addressing these challenges through community-linked research programs, training initiatives, and policy advocacy.
To further elevate the depth, diversity, and impact of our work, we are actively seeking Visiting Research Fellows who can lend their expertise to guide, collaborate, and innovate with us. Modes of Engagement: Honorary and Paid
1. Honorary Visiting Research Fellows
For those who are driven by volunteerism, intellectual passion, or a desire to give back.
Benefits include:
- Official recognition and listing on institute’s website
- Access to field data, institute research tools, and internal events
- Networking with other VRFs and institutional partners
- Letter of appreciation, affiliation certificate, and recommendation letters upon request
2. Paid Visiting Research Fellows
For those engaging in time-bound or funded project-based assignments, where compensation is appropriate.
Compensation models:
- Monthly honorarium (based on scope of involvement)
- Project-based consultancy fee
- Travel and accommodation reimbursement (where applicable)
Engagements may vary from short-term (3–6 months) to longer-term (1–2 years), depending on project needs and fellow availability.
Key Areas for Contribution
As a Visiting Research Fellow, you may contribute in one or more of the following areas:
a) Research and Fieldwork
- Design and lead empirical studies
- Conduct needs assessments, surveys, and interviews
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data
b) Policy and Advocacy
- Draft policy briefs and white papers
- Liaise with government or multilateral institutions
- Contribute to thematic dialogues and roundtables
c) Mentoring and Teaching
- Supervise interns, trainees, and research associates
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and academic sessions
- Co-develop institute’s training modules and course content
d) Knowledge Exchange
- Organize guest lectures, symposia, or public webinars
- Represent the Strategia Research and Training Institute at national/international conferences
- Publish collaboratively with the Strategia Research and Training Institute researchers
