Journal Submission Guidelines

The STRATI Journal of Regional and Urban Economics is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to advancing knowledge on the spatial dimensions of economic activity and the dynamics of urban and regional development. The journal publishes high-quality theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented research examining the economic forces shaping cities, regions, and metropolitan areas, as well as the interconnections between them.

It seeks to foster deeper understanding of the economic, social, environmental, and institutional factors influencing regional growth, urbanization, spatial inequality, housing markets, transport systems, labor mobility, and local governance. Contributions that integrate economics with geography, planning, political science, environmental studies, and data science are strongly encouraged.

The journal provides a global platform for academics, researchers, policymakers, urban planners, and development practitioners interested in evidence-based strategies for promoting balanced regional development and sustainable, inclusive urban growth. Manuscripts should be 6,000–8,000 words with an abstract not exceeding 200 words. Submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, and authors must submit a plagiarism report with their manuscript. The journal maintains a target review period of no more than two months to ensure timely dissemination of research findings.

The STRATI Journal of Regional and Urban Economics aims to deepen our understanding of how spatial factors—geography, location, agglomeration economies, connectivity, and urban form—influence economic outcomes. It explores the ways in which policy, infrastructure, innovation, migration, and environmental constraints shape regional competitiveness and urban livability.

The journal covers a broad spectrum of topics, from spatial economic theory to applied analyses of specific urban and regional challenges. It encourages research that addresses pressing global issues such as rapid urbanization, climate resilience in cities, regional disparities, housing affordability, and the economic impacts of infrastructure investment.

A distinctive focus of the journal is to bridge academic research with actionable policy, enabling governments, city authorities, and regional institutions to design interventions that promote sustainable growth, reduce inequality, and enhance resilience. It welcomes studies employing a range of methodological approaches, including econometric modeling, spatial analysis, geospatial big data, computable general equilibrium models, and simulation techniques.
