Journal Submission Guidelines

The STRATI Journal of Health Systems and Financing is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to advancing research, policy analysis, and practice in the design, governance, and financing of health systems worldwide. It serves as a platform for interdisciplinary scholarship bridging health economics, public health policy, health services research, and development studies to inform more equitable, efficient, and sustainable health systems.

The journal welcomes contributions from academics, policymakers, practitioners, and development partners that critically explore financing models, governance structures, service delivery innovations, and reforms aimed at improving population health outcomes. It emphasizes both theoretical and empirical work that is policy-relevant and applicable to high-, middle-, and low-income contexts, with a strong focus on equity, financial protection, and universal health coverage (UHC).

The Journal aims to:

  • Foster evidence-based dialogue on how to strengthen health systems to achieve UHC and health equity.
  • Promote comparative and context-specific analysis of health financing mechanisms and their impacts.
  • Support the design of efficient, resilient, and sustainable health system financing models.
  • Examine the interlinkages between governance, service delivery, financing, and health outcomes.
  • Advance understanding of the role of public and private sectors, community-based financing, and international development assistance in health systems.
  • Encourage innovative approaches to health system strengthening in response to demographic, epidemiological, technological, and climate-related challenges.

The scope covers research across macro-, meso-, and micro-level perspectives of health systems, including financing policy design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
