Professor Dewaram Abhiman Nagdeve is Director at the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, and also Professor and Head of the Department of Fertility and Social Demography at IIPS. With over 29 years of experience in teaching, research, and policy advisory, he has contributed extensively to population studies, fertility, reproductive health, and environmental demography. A Ph.D. in Population Studies from IIPS, Prof. Nagdeve has authored numerous books, monographs, and research papers published in reputed national and international journals. He has been associated with several national and international research projects, including the Longitudinal Ageing Study in India (LASI), National Family Health Survey (NFHS), and studies supported by UNFPA, WHO, and Harvard University, and extensively supervised Ph.D. M. Phil and Masters research . A frequent speaker at global conferences, his research has significantly influenced public policy on health, population, and sustainable development in India and beyond.
