Journal Submission Guidelines

The STRATI Journal of Democracy and Governance is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal that offers a vital platform for critical and interdisciplinary research on democratic institutions, governance systems, public accountability, political participation, and institutional reforms across diverse national, regional, and global contexts. The journal welcomes contributions from scholars, policymakers, civil society actors, and practitioners who explore the theory and practice of democracy and good governance, especially in emerging and transitional societies.

The journal seeks to publish original, high-quality research papers, comparative analyses, field-based studies, case reports, and policy-oriented discussions that reflect on democratic deficits, innovations in governance, participatory policymaking, transparency, and the resilience of democratic institutions. Submissions should range from 6,000 to 8,000 words and include an abstract not exceeding 200 words. All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process and must include a plagiarism report.

The STRATI Journal of Democracy and Governance aims to deepen scholarly understanding and practical approaches toward inclusive, accountable, and effective democratic governance. The journal serves as a platform for interdisciplinary and comparative scholarship that advances knowledge of how democratic systems function, evolve, and respond to internal and external pressures—including populism, authoritarian backsliding, institutional erosion, and social movements.

It addresses key questions about the legitimacy, quality, and sustainability of governance systems; the rule of law; the balance of power among institutions; the role of civil society and the media; and the impact of globalization, digitalization, and climate change on democracy. The journal places special emphasis on inclusive governance, participatory decision-making, and innovations in democratic practices in the Global South.

By engaging both normative theory and empirical inquiry, the journal contributes to strengthening democratic accountability, transparency, rule-based governance, and institutional integrity in policymaking processes.
