Journal Submission Guidelines

The STRATI Journal of Political Economy welcomes original papers from academicians, researchers and practitioners alike, and particularly encourages submissions that draw on policy-oriented theoretical and empirical research focusing on focuses on the interaction between economic policies and outcomes and political institutions and economic outcomes, the state of the economy and political outcomes, economic development and institutions, economic conditions and political change and elections, political institutions and role and evolution of legal and administrative institutions, and issues concerning social interactions, international trade and international relations, macroeconomic and microeconomic issues both in developed and developing economies.

The papers should generally be 6000-8000 words with abstract of not more than 200 words, though more substantial papers will be considered. The contributions to STRATI Journal of Political Economy reflect the interdisciplinary emphasis, which is fundamental to the journal. The papers will be double-blind refereed using an appropriate cross-section of reviewers drawn from the target interests. The journal aims for a turn-around time of three months from submission to publication to ensure rapid dissemination and dynamic discussion of ideas and results. The Editor, therefore, welcomes early contact prior to submission of manuscripts with, for example, an abstract. Book reviews are also included.

STRATI Journal of Political Economy will be of interest to academicians, researchers and practitioners working in interdisciplinary fields, policy and decision makers in national and local government and relevant agencies, and non-governmental organisations. The Editorial Board provides a unique mix of expertise from both the academic community and a full range of interested parties.

The STRATI Journal of Political Economy is an interdisciplinary, peer reviewed, international journal covering policy and decision-making relating to political economy in the broadest sense. Uniquely, its specific aim is to strengthen political economy research focusing on integration of economics input in planning, designing, and evaluation and enhancing the competence in political institutional analysis. STRATI Journal of Political Economy welcomes the research papers in the areas of exploring how political forces affected the choice of policies, distributive conflicts and political institutions, political economics and macroeconomics, trade, public finance and labour, elections and economic policy, electoral outcomes, strategic manipulation of policies, central bank independence, redistributive conflicts in fiscal policy, the political economy of reforms in developing countries, excessive deficits, lobbying models, fiscal federalism, and political business cycles.

The journal aims to provide a forum for imaginative and creative thinking around the theoretical and empirical foundations of political economy research. The contribution to the STRATI Journal of Political Economy should also focus on political institutions and institutional change, culture and economic outcomes and developments, ethnic identity, economic conflict, success and failures, press and individual political opinions, development and democracy, democracy and growth, democracy and innovation and flexibility, democracy and education and human capital, democratic institutions, democratic capital, and dictators and democracies.

The contribution to the STRATI Journal of Political Economy should broadly focus on following themes (but are not restricted to):
