Who Can Apply?

We invite expressions of interest from highly qualified and experienced individuals from the following backgrounds:

Academics

  • Professors, Associate Professors, or retired faculty members from universities, colleges, or research institutes
  • Scholars with significant experience in teaching, research, and curriculum development
  • Experts in interdisciplinary fields who can guide action research and community-focused studies

Development Professionals

  • Senior professionals from UN bodies, NGOs, civil society organizations, or CSR divisions
  • Individuals with field-based expertise in health, education, environment, livelihoods, or governance
  • Those with experience in monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment, and programme design

Policy Experts and Think Tank Members:

  • Former civil servants, policy advisors, or domain experts with a research orientation
  • Individuals who have worked in multilateral or bilateral agencies and wish to contribute to academia
  • Experts in policy formulation, public administration, or international development

Applicants may be from India or abroad. Cross-sectoral thinkers and bilingual/multilingual scholars are especially encouraged.

Areas of Engagement

Visiting Professors at the Strategia Research and Training Institute can contribute to various activities based on their expertise, interest, and time commitment:

① Teaching and Curriculum Design

  • Conduct short-term courses, guest lectures, or masterclasses
  • Help design curricula for diploma and certificate-level vocational programs
  • Introduce contemporary topics such as climate adaptation, digital governance, gender justice, etc.

② Research and Publications

  • Collaborate on research projects, proposals, and field studies
  • Serve as co-investigators or co-authors in publications
  • Guide data analysis, methodology development, and ethical review processes

③ Mentorship and Capacity Building

  • Mentor junior faculty, project staff, interns, and research mentees
  • Lead workshops on research methods, proposal writing, academic publishing
  • Facilitate online/offline training programs for community researchers or youth

  • Translate research into actionable policy briefs and recommendations
  • Liaise with government bodies or policy forums to disseminate findings

Duration and Commitment

The Visiting Professor role is highly flexible to accommodate diverse professional and academic schedules.

Both part-time and full-time engagements are possible, based on mutual agreement.

Honorary and Paid Opportunities

The Strategia Research and Training Institute recognizes two modes of engagement for Visiting Professors:

Honorary Position

  • For those offering their time voluntarily
  • Includes recognition, affiliation, and coverage of local travel/accommodation
  • Ideal for retired faculty or professionals seeking social contribution

Paid Position

  • Modest honorarium depending on duration and availability of project funding
  • May include per diem, travel, and accommodation support for selected candidates
  • Ideal for those offering substantial teaching or research engagement

The Strategia Research and Training Institute recognizes two modes of engagement for Visiting Professors:

All Visiting Professors will be provided:
