Dr. Falendra Kumar Sudan, a recipient of two gold medals in masters program, is Professor of Economics at the University of Jammu since 2009, with expertise in environmental and natural resource economics, climate change, livelihoods, water governance, sustainable development, and international economics. He is a Visiting Professor at the Institute for Human Development, New Delhi. Since 2016, he has been Director of the Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCE Jammu), acknowledged by the United Nations University, Tokyo. He has served as Visiting Fellow at the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Institute, China in 2023 and 2021, and member of key expert bodies of the Government of India and the Government of Jammu & Kashmir. He has published 7 books and edited 7 volumes, 87 referred papers, and 34 chapters, guided 15 Ph. D research, and widely traveled abroad for academic and research activities. Professor Sudan has contributed extensively to global debates on climate change, rural development, and inclusive growth, with collaborative research engagements across Asia, Europe, and Australia. He has also led and co-directed international projects supported by IDRC, ICSSR, ADB, UNESCO, and ERIA. His work continues to influence policy and governance for sustainable and equitable development in India and beyond.
