Prof. Jatinder S. Bedi

Dr. Jatinder S. Bedi is Professor of Economics at the Institute for Development and Communication (IDC), Chandigarh, with over three decades of experience in research, teaching, and policy advisory. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, under the guidance of the late Prof. Abhijit Sen. His expertise spans employment, MSMEs, textiles, food processing, land economics, GST, and sustainable development. He has authored books with leading publishers including Springer and Commonwealth, contributed to national and international research volumes, and published widely in reputed journals such as Economic and Political Weekly. Dr. Bedi has held leadership positions at the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi, and served on committees of the Government of India, including the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and the Planning Commission. He has also led major research projects shaping policies in employment, education, and industrial development.
