Dr. Syed Noman Ahmad is former Professor of Economics at Aligarh Muslim University, with a distinguished career spanning over four decades in teaching, research, and academic leadership. He holds an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Economics from the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, University of Pune, with specialization in International Trade and Rural Economics. Prof. Ahmad has guided numerous doctoral and M.Phil. scholars and has authored books and research papers on rural transformation, globalization, sustainable development, and gender empowerment. His book Rapid Rural Transformation Through Voluntary Action is a notable contribution to development studies. He has also presented papers at national and international conferences, including the Indian Economic Association. Beyond academia, Prof. Ahmad has served in various administrative roles at AMU, contributing to academic governance and faculty development. His scholarship and experience continue to inform debates on inclusive and sustainable economic growth in India.
