Dr. Subrat Sharma is Dean of Academic Affairs and Coordinator of the Centre for Space Science & Allied Subjects at the University of Ladakh. A distinguished environmental scientist, he previously served as Dean of Research Studies and was the Founding Head of the Ladakh Regional Centre of the G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment. With a Ph.D. in Botany (Kumaun University) and advanced training in Remote Sensing & GIS (United Nations-affiliated CSSTEAP), Dr. Sharma has over three decades of experience in climate change, biodiversity, and sustainable development research. He has authored 7 books, numerous monographs, and over 100 research publications, contributing extensively to policy and action frameworks for the Indian Himalayan Region. Recognized with multiple national and international awards, he is a member of expert committees of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and global scientific bodies.
