Prof. Saket Kushwaha

Professor Saket Kushwaha is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh and a distinguished academic leader with over three decades of post-doctoral experience in higher education, research, and administration across India and Africa. He previously served as Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh, and L.N. Mithila University, Bihar. An eminent agricultural economist, Prof. Kushwaha earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Banaras Hindu University, where he also headed the Department of Agricultural Economics and coordinated the Master of Agri-Business Management program. He has led over a dozen national and international research projects supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), and supervised more than 25 Ph.D. scholars, and above 100 M. Phil scholars, and extensively traveled abroad and engaged with international academics and research. His research focuses on sustainable farming systems, climate resilience, and rural livelihood development.
